Melissa Volk

Head Coach

Melissa Volk is entering her eleventh season as Head Coach with the Andover Huskies (2013-Present). In the off-season, Melissa has been involved in numerous hockey programs including the Elite League, Os Hockey Training, and Minnesota and USA hockey programs. In the off-season what she enjoys most is working with the Andover youth boys and girls.

Melissa was a 2005 graduate of Irondale High School where she was an All-Conference player and Captain. She then graduated from St. Olaf College in 2009 where she played four seasons for the Oles. She has her BA in Exercise Science and Business Management and she also has her MS from St. Cloud State University (2011). She enjoys running, road trips, outdoor activities, and most of all being with her family! Melissa also coaches her oldest daughter’s U8 team and son and youngest daughter’s mite team.


Ronnie Druk

Assistant Coach

Ronnie is entering his ninth season with the Andover Huskies. Previously before joining the Huskies, Druk coached the Minnesota Owls of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League (2014-2015) and the Irondale Knights boys varsity team (2011-2014). 

Ronnie played varsity at Blaine High School as a sophomore. He played juniors for four seasons with the Minnesota Owls (MNJHL). There he was named league MVP, Goaltender of the year, and 1st team all-star (2006-2007). Druk helped to take the Owls to the national tournament, in which they placed fifth. Druk was invited and had a brief stint with the Fayetteville FireAntz (NC) of the Southern Professional Hockey League (2008), and the Evansville IceMen (IN) of the All-American Hockey League (2009-2010).

Ronnie resides in Andover, and is manager of a car dealership. Other hobbies include classic cars, going to the gym, and being a stand-up citizen to this community!


Shannon Kangas

Assistant Coach

Shannon is in her seventh year with the Andover Huskies. She has been involved with hockey since age 7, playing with the boys for many seasons, since girls hockey was not available.  She played high school hockey for Inver Grove Heights, where she was a member of the first ever girls team.  Shannon was all conference 3 seasons and served as captain for 2. She then went on to play 1 year for Minnesota State University, Mankato. 

                Prior to coming to Andover, she has spent time coaching girls hockey for Mankato U10 (01-04), Prior Lake High School (07-08) and Hamline University (08-10).

Shannon graduated from Minnesota State University Mankato, with a bachelor’s of science degree in electronic engineering technology. In her free time, Shannon enjoys outdoor activities, playing hockey, and spending time with her family. Shannon also coaches her oldest daughter’s U12 team, youngest daughter’s U10 team, and both daughters’ numerous sports teams.


Beth Kuehl

Assistant Coach

Beth is in her third season with the Andover Huskies. Before she joined the Huskies, she was the head coach of the St. Francis Girls High School hockey team (2012-2015), and assistant coach for St. Francis for two seasons prior to that. She has also coached for many summer programs and camps. 

Kuehl graduated from Wayzata High School in 2005 where she was an All-Conference selection, named to the All-Metro team, All-State Honorable Mention, and a Senior Goalie of the Year Finalist. Her team finished 3rd in State her senior year. After high school, she played at Bethel University where she was named to the MIAC All-Rookie team her freshman year, a four-time All-Conference selection, a three- time team MVP, a captain, and an All-American her senior year.  

Beth graduated from Bethel with a BA in Education in 2009, and later earned her Masters of Education from St. Mary's University in 2015. She now lives in Andover with her husband and three children. She loves to spend time with her family and friends, and being outside (when it's warm)! Beth also coaches her 2 daughters’ U8 teams.


Claire Butorac

Assistant Coach

Claire is in her first season with the Andover Huskies. Before she joined the coaching staff, she was involved in the summer development camps held in Andover. Aside from Andover, she coached and mentored at camps across Minnesota.

Prior to starting her coaching career, Claire played all of her youth hockey with the Huskies before joining the varsity team as an eighth grader. Claire graduated in 2018 where she was an All-conference selection, All-state Honorable Mention, and Miss Hockey Semi Finalist. Claire served as team captain for two seasons. After graduation, Claire continued her career at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Claire served as team captain for two seasons and was named MVP in her senior season. Claire signed a professional contract with the Minnesota Whitecaps in April of 2023 but, after being invited to training camp she has hopes of continuing her playing career in the newly formed PWHL as a part of the Minnesota organization this upcoming season. 

Claire graduated with her BS in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine. Claire is back living in Andover where she also helps coach the U12A team in Andover. Outside of the rink, Claire loves to be outside spending time with her puppy Lulu as well as spend a lot of time with her friends and family.
